MySkip.com - Most visited website on the day of launch
MySkip.com is a new exciting internet based virtual ‘skip’ where you’ll be able to
rummage or dispose of useful items for free that might otherwise end up in
landfill, helping to preserve the environment in the process. MySkip.com is a fun,
modern and vibrant site having filmed endorsements from major companies and
celebrities alike.
World Leaders & Celebrities on board!
Over the last two years this exciting British based concept has developed beyond
belief, gaining massive support from many world leaders including, The Dalai
Lama, Prime Minister of France, former Prime Minister of Australia even… HRH
The Prince of Wales has send this warmest good wishes for the success of the
project.
At 12 noon on the day of the launch, David Bellamy OBE will be joined by other
personalities as MySkip.com places a huge skip on Trafalgar Square in the heart
of London to focus on the issue of re-use. Items have been donated by, Green
Motion Car Hire, Bang & Olufsen, EcoMoped, Intrepid Holiday Operators and
even a nearly new Mercedes-Benz Smart Car will be given away to the
1,000,000th visitor to the site on the day of launch.
Many celebrities including Carol Vorderman and Craig David who also support
MySkip.com will be invited to the launch in Trafalgar Square, along with heads of
business, (Rob Senior, CEO Saatchi & Saatchi) sport personalities, (David
James – England goalkeeper) and culture, (Dr Francis Corner – Head of London
College of Fashion) to promote its aim, to reduce landfill through encouraging reuse
around the world.
& Together.com who are part of the Climate group have partnered with us. Their
mission is to accelerate the pace of international action on climate change and
they are currently working with Tony Blair on a new climate change initiative.
Setting a Guinness World Record!
To date MySkip.com has had 300,000 pre-register members with an expected
1,000,000 visitors on its first day of launch including over 50,000 school children,
teachers and parents - all keen to make a real difference by supporting re-use
and reducing landfill in the process.
The massive interest in My Skip.com will be officiated during the launch on the
day by the Guinness World Records! They will record MySkip.com creating a
new World Record as, ‘the most visited website on the first day of launch’.
Other Business…
As well as press coverage in The Independent Newspaper and OK! magazine,
BBC Radio 2’s Janie Lee Grace & Steve Wright on the Steve Wright Show
reported, ‘MySkip.com is going to be huge, it’s going to be as big as E-bay’! Even
PR guru Max Clifford is one of MySkip’s many supporters along with Bang &
Olufsen, The Carphone Warehouse, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Barclaycard,
Superdrug, Specsavers and many other major companies.
There is also the talk of a massive concert on the scale of Live Aid planned both
simultaneously at Hyde Park in London and Central Park, NYC. This will create
global awareness with a view to help further reduce landfill.
MySkip team
The MySkip team have future incentives planned to help the UK and developing
countries around the world benefit from re-use. David Bellamy OBE will be
overseeing the MySkip Foundation Trust - the charitable arm of MySkip.com. It
will be looking to provide basic necessities such as clean running water to
developing countries.
To date a small handful of dedicated individuals have devoted all their time and
effort into making MySkip.com the next internet phenomenon. They include
MySkip’s CEO, Gary Cope, creative director Julian Defries, director of
operations, May Al-Karooni, TV presenter & writer Paul Sadler and
conservationist David Bellamy OBE.
